A downloadable Character Sheet

This is a form-fillable character sheet designed specifically for use with the Advanced Fantasy version of Old School Essentials.

It’s handy for virtual tabletop games, tracking mechanics, or just printing an OCD-compliant version of your character.

The highlight features are:

  • Separate fields for race and class.
  • Auto-fills Ability Score modifiers.
  • Spaces to record special modifiers to saving throws and dungeon and wilderness adventuring.
  • An image field to import a token or portrait with one click.
  • Separate sections for the optional weapon proficiency and secondary skill rules.
  • Separate containers for backpack, large and small sacks, and a belt pouch (from the Expanded Equipment list found in Carcass Crawler — Issue 3).
    • You can put a check mark next to the containers you have.
    • Each container contains one area per 100 CN as described in the Advanced Fantasy — Player's Tome, but you can list your gear however you'd like,
  • Separate sections for primary and secondary weapons in light of the optional item-based encumbrance rules (found in Carcass Crawler — Issue 2) and the optional two-weapon fighting rules.
  • Separate encumbrance sections for the three encumbrance options (basic, detailed, and item based).
    • You can put a check mark next to which system you're using, and the sheet will calculate your encumbrance for you.
  • A movement section listing the four common types of movement that automatically adjusts based on your encumbrance.
  • An armor class section that calculates your armor class based on your armor, shield, Dexterity modifier, and other modifiers.
  • A section for the individual initiative optional rules.
    • You can check the box next to this option and the sheet will calculate any initiative modifiers you might have.
  • Attack Value Matrix autofills when you enter your THAC0.

I made it with Acrobat, so it works best with Adobe, but it should fill and calculate fine on other pdf viewers.

If you like the layout of the character sheet, but don't want to use the form fields, you can print it to pdf or on paper without the fields showing up.

Two of the example images are of a sample character, Jari, to show you what the sheet looks like when filled in. Jari's token is by Greg Bruni.

I hope you find the sheet useful! Please also let me know if it's giving you weird calculations; I've tested it extensively, but you never know.
